Shoulder Focus

Early in my career, I decided to focus exclusively in the shoulder after completing international training with several renowned shoulder specialists in Europe, in addition to my residency and fellowship training in shoulder surgery in the United States. I modeled my practice after these specialized master surgeons - to become fully dedicated to a single joint and be able to treat all conditions affecting the shoulder.

By doing so, my professional energy is concentrated solely on achieving the highest anatomic and biomechanical understanding of the shoulder, as well as becoming technically skilled at nearly all types of shoulder surgical procedures.

This European model of focusing on a single joint and being able to treat all conditions of the shoulder, rather than focusing on a particular type of operation (arthroscopic surgery or joint replacement surgery), is less common in the United States. I believe my focus in the shoulder, however, allows for improved and more specialized patient care. Patients with shoulder pain and dysfunction seek professional help because they are unsure of what treatment they need, let alone what kind of surgery, if any. In addition, by focusing in the shoulder, I am able to stay on the cutting edge of the latest shoulder literature and technology.

Patient-Centered Care

Every patient’s experience, symptoms, expectations, and goals are unique. I believe that it is essential to listen to my patients and understand the unique aspects of their condition. It is difficult to achieve great outcomes without building a strong patient-doctor relationship before undergoing surgery.

By being able to offer our patients the complete range of possible treatments in the shoulder, including physical therapy, activity modification, injections, minimally-invasive arthroscopic surgery, and open surgery, I strive to provide the most evidence-based and unbiased treatment recommendations for our patients. My team and I look forward to being a part of your recovery.
